Community GuidelinesCommunity GuidelinesThis site's contributed content (located in the Documents tabs across our topic areas), discussions (located in the Discussions tabs across our topic areas), comments (located on public profile pages, documents pages and course descriptions) and groups (created by members in areas where there is no existing content) provide community members with spaces where we can share comments, thoughts, ideas and experiences related to our interest in professional sports administration in general, and sports ticketing specifically. All site members are encouraged to use these tools to connect with each other, discuss and share content, raise issues and get support. In order to provide one another with a welcoming environment and facilitate a more lively community, we all agree to follow these basic guidelines. Various topic areas, groups and their related discussions are moderated by community members, and everyone is encouraged to post new topics or other content at any time. Moderators or administrators will contact you if anything you post to this site is not in accordance with these guidelines. Public profiles are not moderated, but individual users may choose to delete comments posted there. OUsports.poweredbyedmap.com is Your CommunityFeel free to visit the profiles, discussions or groups just to read other postings or comments (sometimes referred to as "lurking"), or you can post questions and replies to your heart's content! This is an open community and we encourage you to use the tools in the ways you feel most comfortable. Be Honest and ClearWhen registering, avoid choosing a username with the explicit intention of impersonating another person. When posting, be as clear and transparent as possible about your identity, intentions, concerns, and opinions. Be ConsiderateFeel free to engage in a spirited discussion or disagree with the opinions of other members, but please avoid verbal attacks or insults towards individuals (both members and non-members) and organizations. This practice is sometimes called "flaming" and can disrupt community participation and information sharing. If you have any doubt about whether your post will be viewed as such an attack, please feel free to contact the moderator of the discussion by email and ask for his or her advice. You can also email sportsticketing@edmap.biz with "community guidelines" in the subject line. Watch Your LanguageWhile there are no filters on posted content, all members should refrain from using profane, obscene, discriminatory, abusive or otherwise disrespectful language. Ads Not AllowedPlease do not post promotions, advertisements, marketing materials, organization logos or "spam." Only Ohio University's Center for Sports Administration, ED MAP or their partner organizations may post organization profiles, avatars or logos. Any individuals or organizations that want to reach this community with information about their services should email sportsticketing@edmap.biz with "promotion" in the subject line. Privacy is ImportantTo protect your privacy and the privacy of others, please exercise caution when posting personally identifiable information about yourself or a third party. You may select or revise your privacy settings by selecting the privacy tab under "Edit Profile" in the My Account box on the right-hand side column of any page at this site. Note: you must be logged in to see this link. Careful on CopyrightRemember that intellectual property laws, including copyright, apply to OUsports.poweredbyedmap.com. Please refrain from posting any material that is protected by copyright unless you are the copyright holder or have the copyright holder's permission (this includes complete articles from publications such as the New York Times and the Washington Post). You may choose to use this site's default creative commons license or another of your own. Also, please keep in mind that anything you post on this site that does not include a copyright notice will be considered public domain. This means that Ohio University's Center for Sports Administration or ED MAP can republish the submission without further permission. Be Kind, No CapsWhile they may be fun and exciting to write, messages in all caps are NOT FUN TO READ and can be interpreted as an angry or raised voice. Free Advice Isn't Always Good AdviceWhile members should use the discussions to share advice and information, the entire community can't vouch for everything that is communicated among participants. It's not smart to rely solely upon one fellow member's advice. Get a second or third opinion (especially if you are making a big decision). Stay on TopicAlthough there are plenty of topics that should and need to be discussed, please remember that our space is dedicated to our professional sports community-related content and discussions. When posting to discussions, please try to keep your comments consistent with the content being discussed in that thread. When posting documents or groups, please place them in topic area(s) that are related. If a posting is off-topic, moderators can either remove it altogether or post it to another, more relevant area. If your topic is ever removed or moved, a moderator will contact you. We're ListeningWhen posting to discussions, there is no need to post your message or question to more than one forum. If moderators believe the post will be read by more people in another forum, they will move it to that forum. If your topic is ever removed or moved, a moderator will contact you. If members believe that a post or reply is off-topic, they should alert the moderator of that forum. You may want to post content to more than one topic, if it is relevant to more than one topic. This will make it easier for people to find your documents. But What If?If a member is found to be in violation of these community guidelines, moderators may remove or move the post, and they will send a notice to the offending member. Extreme or repetitive violations may result in loss of community privileges. Members should alert moderators by email to posts that are offensive to them or if they feel they are being harassed. You can also email sportsticketing@edmap.biz with "community guidelines" in the subject line. Please, play nice... |
