Drew Cloud is currently the Vice President of Ticket Sales, Service & Retention for Madison Square Garden Sports, overseeing the efforts for the New York Knicks (NBA), Rangers (NHL) & Liberty (WNBA).
A graduate of Ohio University, Cloud spent many many days here in Athens wondering how he could break into the sports industry. While working towards his undergrad and graduate degrees, he spent his summers as a sales/marketing intern for the Pittsburgh Penguins, where he got his first look at how a professional franchise was structured and who the key players were on the business side of a team.
Cloud now has now spent 15 plus years in the industry and developed a well-rounded background, featuring roles in the sports marketing world with International Sports Marketing and Major League Baseball Alumni Assoc., marketing partnerships and ticket sales with the Tampa Bay Devil Rays (MLB) and Tampa Bay Mutiny (MLS) and most notably sales management and leadership roles with the Phoenix Suns (NBA), Mercury (WNBA) and US Airways Center. His background and successes have led him to his current role, at the “World’s Most Famous Arena,” the mecca of sports and entertainment, Madison Square Garden.
Cloud, 38, was born and raised in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, the reigning City of Champions. As mentioned, he attended Ohio University and graduated with a B.S. in Sport Sciences and a Masters in Athletic Administration. Cloud resides in New York City with his wife Maggie, daughter Grace (15 months) and dog Lambert.
