Patrick Wood is the Vice President of Business Development at Street & Smith’s Sports Group. Wood has spent almost 20 years in the sports industry in sales, marketing and management for some of the premier properties in sports.

Wood launched his career in southern California with LA Gear, helping to start up their Sporting Goods & Events division and establishing LA Gear as a contender in the sneaker wars of the early 1990’s. He moved back to his midwestern roots to further his career in media and marketing as the Director of Sales and Marketing for Host Communications and USA Productions. Wood next moved to Cleveland to work as a Corporate Sales Manager for his hometown Cavaliers. Since 1997 Wood has called Charlotte home and has held senior management positions with Lowe’s Motor Speedway, Total Contact Sports, and Street and Smith’s Sports Group. He also served as board chair for UCAC Chamber of Commerce and is on the Board of Directors for the North Carolina Motorsports Association and the Jamie Moyer Foundation’s National Campaign Cabinet.

Wood has also served as an adjunct professor at Kent State and Johnson & Wales and guest lecturer at Bowling Green, University of North Carolina and Arizona State. Mr. Wood’s most passionate philanthropy is the work he has done on behalf of the Big Brother & Big Sisters of America, including having been an active big brother for the past 21 years.

Mr. Wood is a graduate of the Bowling Green State University with graduate degrees from Kent State University and Notre Dame’s Sports Management Institute.
