Jim Van Stone

Senior Vice President, Ticket Sales & Services

In 2009, Jim Van Stone is entering his third season as the Washington Capital's Senior Vice President of Ticket Sales and Services. In this role, Jim oversees all ticket sales, customer service and ticket operation initiatives for the team. 

Jim joined the Capitals from the front office of the Phoenix Coyotes (NHL) and Arizona Sting (NLL) where he served as Senior Vice President of Ticket Sales.

Prior to working with the Coyotes, Jim served as Vice President of Sales for both Comcast-Spectacor sports teams, the Philadelphia Flyers and 76ers.  Jim started his career in 1991 as an intern with the 76ers and became a ticket sales representative in 1993.  He progressed to the position of Director of Sales in charge of new business development before leaving the organization in 1998.
 
Jim then joined the NHL's Tampa Bay Lightning in 1998 as Director of Ticket Sales and Operations, overseeing all ticket-related responsibilities.  Following his Lightning service, Jim joined the Cleveland Cavaliers/Gund Arena Company in 1999, serving as Vice President of Ticket Sales.  In this capacity, Jim oversaw subscription sales, group sales, telemarketing and customer service operations for the Cavaliers, Cleveland Rockers and Gund Arena.
 
Jim holds a Master's degree in Sports and Recreation Administration from Temple University in Pennsylvania, as well as a Bachelor of Arts in Communications from William Paterson College in New Jersey.  Jim and his wife Becky have two children, son Peyton and daughter Lauren. The family resides in Vienna, Virginia.
